Technical description

Inverter High Current

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the heat pump's control board detects that the compressor is drawing too much electrical power to operate. This is usually caused by a physical blockage in the system, a mechanical failure within the compressor itself, or a fault in the electronic inverter board that manages the power supply.

This issue is more frequent during extreme cold snapshots when the compressor has to work at its maximum capacity for extended periods to extract heat from the outside air.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
