Technical description
Inverter High Current
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the internal electrical safety systems detect a power surge or excessive current being drawn by the heat pump's motor. It is usually caused by a failure in the electronic control board or an internal electrical fault within the compressor itself, which forces the system to shut down to prevent further damage. The system essentially blows a virtual fuse because the components are working harder than they are safely designed to.
This fault can be more frequent during extreme summer or winter temperatures when the compressor is required to run at its maximum speed for extended periods.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
