Technical description
Inverter High Current
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the internal brain of the unit detects that the compressor is trying to draw more electrical power than is safe to handle. This usually happens because there is a mechanical blockage inside the compressor or a serious electrical failure within the control board, causing the system to trip for safety. The most common reason is that the motor is under too much strain to spin properly, often due to internal wear or a faulty connection.
This fault is more common during the peak of winter or during summer heatwaves, as the compressor has to work much harder to move heat during extreme outdoor temperatures.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
