What causes this fault?

This code appears when the boiler is in the middle of its normal starting sequence and is trying to establish a flame. It is caused by the control board sending a spark to the burner to ignite the gas required for heating or hot water. If the code stays on the screen without the boiler firing up, it usually means the system is struggling to sense the flame or the gas is not reaching the burner efficiently.

DIY fix possible

No action required; this is a normal status message.Wait for the boiler to complete its ignition sequence. If the code persists for several minutes without firing, try pressing the reset button.
