What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer chips suffer a hardware failure or a communication breakdown between the various electrical boards. The most common reason is simply age-related wear on the delicate electronic components, though it can sometimes be triggered by an electrical surge or moisture getting onto the circuitry.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
