Technical description
PILOT WILL NOT LIGHT
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal safety system detects that the small pilot light has failed to ignite or stay lit. Most commonly, this is caused by a blocked nozzle preventing gas flow or a worn-out sensor failing to tell the boiler that the flame is actually present.
This issue is frequently seen after the summer months when a boiler has been turned off, as dust can settle in the pilot assembly or the gas valve can become slightly stuck during the period of inactivity.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
