Technical description
Pump over run (heating operation)
What causes this fault?
This occurs when the boiler has finished its heating cycle and needs to move heat away from the internal heat exchanger to prevent overheating. The system keeps the pump running for a short period to circulate the remaining hot water into the pipes. It is a normal safety function rather than a mechanical failure.
DIY fix possible
No action is usually required as this is a normal operating status.Wait for 5-10 minutes for the 'S' status to clear automatically.Ensure your radiator valves are open to help the heat dissipate.
