Technical description
Ignition fault (lockout) caused by no gas, no detection
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler attempts to start up but fails to sense a flame after several attempts. The most common reasons are a lack of gas reaching the unit, a dirty ignition electrode that can no longer spark, or a faulty gas valve failing to open.
This fault is slightly more common during the first cold snap of winter when components that have been idle over summer are suddenly forced to work under high demand.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
