Technical description
Check wiring. Check gas pressure. Change gas valve solenoid. Replace faulty gas valve.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects an electrical or physical failure in the component that manages gas delivery. The most common reason is that the magnetic coils within the valve have burnt out or the internal mechanism has become stuck, preventing the boiler from maintaining a safe flame. In some cases, loose or damaged wiring between the control board and the valve can also trigger this safety shutdown.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
