Technical description
More than 5 start attempts without any flame formation.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler is unable to detect a flame after several attempts to start up. The most common reason is a lack of gas reaching the burner, often caused by a closed valve, an issue with the gas meter, or a buildup of carbon on the part that creates the spark.
This fault is slightly more common during the first cold snap of winter when gas valves that have been dormant all summer can occasionally stick.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
