Technical description
Low water pressure/Water pressure switch fault
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the system loses the physical water pressure required to push heat around your radiators and protect the internal components from overheating. The most common reason is a slow leak somewhere in your central heating pipework or radiators, though it can also happen if you have recently bled your radiators without topping the water back up.
This fault is more common in autumn when homeowners turn their heating back on for the first time, as dormant seals may have shrunk or developed small leaks over the summer.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
