Technical description
The gas valve is switched
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control board detects that the gas valve is in the wrong position or receiving an incorrect electrical signal. It is usually caused by a physical failure within the valve's internal motor or a communication break in the wiring connecting it to the main computer. In some cases, the control board itself may be sending incorrect voltages, preventing the valve from opening safely to light the burner.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
