Technical description
Boiler in anti-cycle mode
What causes this fault?
This occurs when your boiler has reached its target temperature and shuts down briefly to prevent 'short-cycling,' which is when the unit turns on and off too rapidly. It happens because the heat produced by the boiler is being generated faster than your radiators can release it into your rooms. By pausing for a few minutes, the boiler protects its internal components from unnecessary wear and tear while waiting for the system water to cool down.
This status is more common during autumn and spring when your heating is on but the outside temperature is mild, meaning your home requires less heat than the boiler’s minimum output.
DIY fix possible
Wait 15 to 30 minutes for the timer to finish automaticallyEnsure all radiator valves are fully open to allow heat to dissipateCheck that your room thermostat is set higher than the current room temperature
