Technical description
Ignition failure
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler fails to detect a steady flame after several attempts to ignite the gas. The most common reasons include a lack of gas supply to the unit, a worn-out ignition spark, or a build-up of carbon on the internal probes that monitor the combustion process.
This fault is more frequent during the first cold snap of autumn when internal components that have been idle over summer fail to operate correctly upon restart.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
