Technical description

Operating errors or fault lock-out conditions are displayed as E (number) - see chart on Page 7.

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler attempts to light but fails to detect a stable flame, causing the system to shut down for safety. It is often caused by a lack of gas reaching the burner or a worn-out spark probe that can no longer ignite the fuel. In some cases, the internal control board may be failing to send the correct signals to the gas valve.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
